In periodic editions they present editorially selected portfolios or thematically grouped photographs, while adopting entirely new approaches: They are unconventional in content and concept, in visual language and design, as well as in production, presentation and distribution. But how significant are these magazines and their creators currently in a theoretical discourse and the present art scene?<\/div>\n<p>This year the ZZF \u2013 Zentrum f\u00fcr zeitgen\u00f6ssische Fotografie Leipzig e.V. (Centre for Contemporary Photography Leipzig) is completely devoted to the popular medium of the photo magazine. As a final highlight of the series \u201cprinted matter\u201d, renowned art experts and international publishers of independent photo magazines are invited to discuss the current development and importance of this emerging medium at the symposium SeitenAnsichten. The forum targets to a general localization of the magazines in the art scene, wants to demonstrate functions and unique features and position the format in the discourse.
