Lucy Art Residency
Date:
16 – 18 June 2017
The Lucy Art Residency is a new residency program for visual artists working with photography. The programme offers the opportunity for an artist based in Europe and the Mediterranean whose main practice is photography focused to spend two weeks in June 2017 in Kavala, Greece. It is free to apply and the selected artist will have the opportunity to live and work in the coastal city in the north of Greece with transportation, accommodation and subsistence covered.
PERSONAL NOTE:
I was very honored to be invited as a jury – together with Shoair Mavlian (curator at Tate Modern), Arsen Kalfayan (co-founder of Kalfayan Galleries) and Sara Dolfi Agostini (curator and writer)- for the first Lucy Art Residency in Kavala, Greece. The entries were of hight quality and the shortlist was excellent. It was great to get an indepth insight of the work of winner Sylvain Couzinet-Jacques and second prize winners Klara Källstrom and Thobias Fäldt. I also really enjoyed to be part of the 1st Lucy Art Residency Οpen Talks at the Archeological Museum of Kavala.
Thank you Maria and Nikolas and Sylvain, Klara and Thobias. I will never forget this special experience.
